Product Introduction
Pick to light is a type of order-fulfillment technology designed to improve picking accuracy and efficiency, while simultaneously lowering your labor costs. Notably, pick to light is paperless; it employs alphanumeric displays and buttons at storage locations, to guide your employees in light-aided manual picking, putting, sorting, and assembling.
What the Pick to Light System includes?
The components of a pick to light system includes 3 main part, Lighting Terminals, Barcode Scanner, Pick to Light Software.
Lighting Terminals- many lights are installed on the racking system for each pick location.
The lighting terminals includes two types of lights. One is traditional wired lighting terminals. It is powder and communications with controllers.
Another type is wifi ternimals. It is connected by wifi. This is more automatic and easy to operate.
Barcode Scanner- it is used to identify the totes, cartons,plastic bins by the picking order.
Picking to Light Software- the system is to control the lights and communicate with WMS or other warehouse management system.
How does the Pick to Light System work?
1,Operators scan item barcodes that are attached to temporary and reusable holding containers, for example, shipping cartons.
2,The system lights up, illuminating a path to guide the operator to the indicated storage location. There, the system then indicates how many and which items should be picked.
3,The operator picks the items, and places them in the holding container, and then presses a button to confirm the picking.
